A device that will receive a credit or debit card. To obtain fuel through the dispenser, the user inserts his or her card into the dispenser’s card-acceptor opening. Through reliance on a computer network tie-in, the acceptor device verifies the validity of the card, authorizes the dispenser to release fuel, and records the details of the transaction for later billing or recordkeeping purposes.
