A hand-operated pump, mounted atop an oil drum or similar-sized container, which dispenses product in an assigned amount with each stroke of the pumping mechanism.

Stroke-type pumps are widely used for dispensing kerosene into small containers. Some are set to dispense a quart of liquid with each stroke of the pump. Stops can be set on a quart-stroke pump that will allow the mechanism to dispense a smaller amount with each stroke of the pump.
