SME Solutions LLC, a company of which Northwest Pump owns 50%, acquired the assets of Grand Ronde Petroleum Service LLP (GRP), SME announced July 1.

GRP owner and President Gary Jones will join SME through the transition with plans to retire soon, according to the announcement.

“This opportunity to expand the SME footprint and acquire the exceptional talent and service offered by GRP fits perfectly with SME’s plan to the best service provider in the Pacific Northwest,” said SME President Mark Able in a letter to customers, vendors and partners. “Adding the Tri-Cities location to our existing coverage will allow us to continue to grow and support both companies’ long-term customers. We will offer all our services of maintenance, electrical, tank cleaning/fuel polishing, compliance/testing, upgrades and project coordination.”

SME’s Jason Franke, who works in the Tri-Cities area, will work as area service manager.

Joining SME from GRP are: dispatcher Krystal Lusch; technicians Doug Dawson, Christopher Mahoney and Nathen Tarr; and electrician Jim Robinson.

SME will continue operations in the current GRP location, 6223 W. Deschutes Ave., Suite 201, Kennewick, WA  99336. The 24-hour office phone will remain 509-783-4542.
