Freedom Electronics announced during the 2021 PEI Convention at the NACS Show in Chicago the immediate availability of the Easy Pump EMV solution. The company touts the product as an alternative to expensive OEM retrofit kits or new fuel dispensers.
Easy Pump retrofit kits enable small, unbranded independent gas stations to become EMV compliant with up to 65% savings over other solutions, according to the company.
“Easy Pump, powered by Sound Payments, will help NACS and PEI members reduce monthly chargeback liability due to EMV noncompliance by replacing fuel dispenser terminals with a cost-effective EMV solution that will extend the life of older fuel dispensers,” said Patrick Jeitler, CEO of Freedom Electronics. “It’s an affordable, easy to install and ready to ship solution.”
Hunter Shutt, of AD Petroleum, recently installed the Easy Pump EMV package, which includes customized UL listed installation kits for each pump and free contactless payment. He was able to order and get the Easy Pump retrofits installed in less than a week.
The Easy Pump package includes premium features such as Tap to Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay at no additional cost.
“We have been in business for 25 years, and the Easy Pump is way easier to install than any other product we have seen,” Shutt said. “A lot of our customers can’t afford $7,000 or more per pump to become EMV compliant. We sell them Easy Pump.”
