I have to check calibration at a site that has Ovation 3 grade blenders. All grades are blended so there are no straight products being dispensed. Am I right in thinking that if I have to calibrate one of the Ovations because one of the blended grades is out of whack that I'd have to set the blend ratios so that each of the 2 meters is dispensing only straight grades? So that I'm not trying to calibrate a meter that's only supplying one portion of a blended grade? That makes sensse at the moment, but can someone confirm or deny that??

With the remote hit Clear, it will tell you the ratio (% of high).

Dispense 5 of each feedstock. Once calibrated, and you have to know how to open the door on the WIP to do the calibration, dispense 5 gallons of the blend grade at about 2 or 3 gpm. This is what Handbook 44 refers to as a Special Test.

If you don't know how to use the remote or know how to do the calibration get someone who does. It's not worth the trouble you can cause.

I'm pretty good with a remote. I change the blend ratios and verify them every Spring/Fall, but have not yet had to calibrate this site. The thing with this site is that there is no grade select for a feedstock because all 3 grades dispensed are a blend of the 2 feedstocks. It's not like a regular UNL/MID/PUL setup where UNLD and PUL are feedstocks and MID is a blend of them. There, all 3 grades are blends of straight gas and ethanol feedstock.

What is this setup? They get their own straight ethanol as a feed stock and straight gas and mix their own? That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. One loose fill adapter and a good three day rain storm and you would have a really strange Phase separation I would think.

Mike you are correct, you will need to change the blend ratios to calibrate. I have an ethanol blend site that I have had to do this at. I also close the other fire valve to ensure I am on the right product.

I can't fix stupid, But I can sure charge for it.

Thanks Smelly I kinda thought that was the case but as you can tell, I'm not primarily a Wayne tech, and this is the only one I've seen with this setup. Good idea with shutting the other shear valve, I'll make sure to do it. Thanks again
