I HAVE A CUSTMER WITH A PASSPORT RUNNING EXXON 8.02.28.03 EVERY TIME THE PASSPORT DOES ITS WEEKLY SHUT DOWN THE NETWORK GOES OFFLINE UNTIL THE EDH IS REBOOTED. I NOTICED THAT AS LONG AS THE PASSPORT COMES UP FIRST ALL IS O.K. BUT IF THE EDH COMES UP FIRST THEN NETWORK IS OFFLINE UNTIL EDH IS REBOOTED. HELP

A trick I do,(approved by gilbarco) is to log into passporttech and enter control panel, system, advanced, virtual memory and set the min and max to the recommended, typically 1522mb. If the recommended is lower then that, check to make sure you have both ram chips in the combo.
Also check event viewer after a reboot of the combo to see if it is encountering any errors when it is rebooting that may be slowing it down, and run a dskchk c: to see if you have a good hard drive on the combo.
I have seen the problem you are talking about, but usually it is shell locations. |

| ENDED UP REPLACING HARD DRIVE IN EDH. NOW REGARDLESS IF PASSPORT COMES UP BEFORE EDH OR AFTER, NETWORK COMES ONLINE. MOTHERBOARD , CABLES, COMPACT FLASH, IBUTTON NOT THE PROBLEM. |
