How much money wise would you estimate you carry in inventory on your service vehicle? What do you always have on hand?

I say about 30 - 40k and lately its been a passport power supply.

I used to have 65k+, I am down to 21k, I DON'T carry hoses, nozzles, breakways, swivels, stp parts, relays, overlays, keypads, verifone parts, veeder root parts, most pump parts, etc. I do have enough parts to completely build 2 passports, and edh and some misc important pump parts(pump controllers, hydraulic interface's, crind reg, crind logic, crind node, epp pinpad, card readers).

I am mainly a passport tech, and 80% of my calls are passport related, installs or site down's. I figure no reason to carry all the other stuff. I have the occasional return trip when the site has a pump down, but no enough to warrant 30k in extra stock on my truck.

Sure, I will do a side job for you.... the cost is 100,000 for the first trip, since I will lose my job, I will need the extra cash.

At my last inventory mine came in at about $35k. Mine was the third or fourth highest out of all the techs out of my particular branch office. I do mostly POS work (Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz + Passport) and that stuff tends to be high dollar inventory. A lot of our pump (non-POS) techs are in the $20k-$25k range.

When I was doing service gray runs, I carried almost 60K

Now that I do mostly POS, down to 24K

But somehow, I am the #1 user of 1.5hp PMAs!

I had $80K when I first started, between what I inherited from the last guy and what I piled in there, but now that I know what I'm doing ;) it's down to about $40K, and going down from there. I do a lot of POS stuff, too so I have a lot of parts for different systems that other guys don't need.
