One of our guys is onsite trying to mix Wayne & Tokheim. The gas units are Tokheim Prem C w/ Wayne SPM kits in them & Wayne 4v's with SPM's for the diesel islands. The 4v's were added today. The VXDHC has been removed, 67 box converted & Fusion added. Sapphire has been loaded as Wayne fuel & Wayne DCR's.
He has been on the phone w/ WHD since 14:30 EST & they now believe that this particular setup will not work, as all programming in the Sapp / Fusion / Dispensers has been verified several times. (note: WHD has stated they have never set up a site with this particular configuration, but in theory it should work)
He cannot get ANY of the dispensers to talk to the Fusion, nor will the DCR's talk to it. He is not getting "Fuel Comms Error" nor "DCR POLL ERRORs".
I have mixed Wayne with Tokheim & Fusion, but not like this.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this setup even possible?
Thanks -Joseph

| "nor will the DCR's talk to it" DCR's do not talk to the fusion in HyperPIB configuration, they just pas through the CAT Grib board RS485 to RS232, this is a simple pass through. There is no data connection inside the Fusion for the CATS. The CAT Grib only has a power connection, it gets its power from the USB connection on the Atom Board. |

| Have you tried just getting the Tokes or just the Waynes to talk fuel only? As for DCRs., I'm at a loss, they are all considered Wayne DCRs. I would hook up a B&B connector and try it that way if it were me. |

All the card readers are Wayne with ixBoards, so that shouldn't be a problem. As mentioned before, the CAT side is just a pass-through in the Fusion. You can't mix different card readers, unless your POS is able to communicate to two different types of card readers. In this case, this is simply between the Sapphire and the CATs if you do not have CAT comm. Trying a B&B connector is certainly possible to rule out a defective CAT GRIB. On the pump side, the Sapphire thinks all the fueling points are Wayne, the Fusion will take care of the translations from HyperPIB protocol to Wayne or Tokheim pump protocol. I would probably try what cantdrive55 suggested and hook up one dispenser only to Fusion. Might even hand program it on the Fusion and just make sure the Fusion is talking to the FP without error. |

| So to sum it up there is no SPM programming on the Fusion. |

| Assuming the Fusion is loaded with rev 28, and you converted the Tokheim's in the setup of the Fusion to run out to the 67 box from the BIR port. The cardreader's have no programming other than at the IX board, and Sapphire. This should be no different than Wayne's and Tokheim 262's. There is some programming in the Tokheim's. Wayne engineering should be able to see what's happening in you install Ver 28 with NOC with an internet connection. to Wayne's NOC server. |

Thanks for the info guys. I went up Friday & we installed it together. Some wiring issues were found & the site is now operational. We did have issues at first with prepays, the units would go into slow flow almost immediately. But after a few cycles of the system it seemed to clear up. Everything on the Tokheim side ran very, very slow at first, then picked up speed with more transactions (response times from the units).
Again thanks for the suggestions. |
