Greg this is for you. Have a station that was closed when a heavy truck drove thru the site doing lots of damage. Store was closed almost a year. When we went to register the Ruby we were told they would need to pay the catch up HD amount for the time they were closed. Anyway around that? Doesn't seem fair.

| We had a station that sat empty for 3 years before we bladed it and built a new store. I contacted VFI and they wanted some proof...I sent them some info from the City planning department and it came to a good ending... |
This is my signature. There are others like it but this one is mine. |

We are fairly experienced with this, we have had to deal with this many times. ANY lapse in coverage has to be collected before you are able to receive help. You only have to pay for the months of coverage during your contract period where you choose not to receive help (Opt'd out). If you let your contract expire and did not renew you have to pay from the date your contract expired to current. Its fair in the sense that a new location has to pay to begin services and a month fee as well. So its only fair that you pay for your lapse in service. I know, we had the same argument with our VeriFone rep. I can get you contact info for and individual at VeriFone if you would like more info. |

| Thanks guys for your responses. Not understanding customer paying for HD contracts when their business is shut down for extended periods of time. I will investigate further. If I find any GOOD news I'll report back. |

| I have had good luck with i_contracts at VeriFone - they waived the lapse fee at stations that were shut down before the August 1, 2011 ASM deadline. |

| I would buy a new register (different company) just out of principal. |

Stories like these certainly played a part in our decision to upgrade to nucleus rather than sapphire. |

I contacted the folks that oversee ASM and HD coverage, who provided the following:
VeriFone's policy for any site that is closed for remodel, refurb or because of an act of God would not be subject to lapse fees for those months that business was interrupted. VFI also suspends any ongoing services that may be in place during events as this and reinstates the services at the site once reopened so the value of the services are not lost. Any business that has changed hands and a new owner takes over they are not subject to lapse fees that may not have been paid by previous operator. Vfi only requires a copy of new business license.
Obviously, some proof of change in status is going to be required.
Please, as mentioned previously, get in touch with the Verifone contracts group and let them work with you to resolve this.
