Once again, ran into HPV-20unavailable {2}. Check the obvious, lan terminations, Load sms on hpv-20 and export all, ping sapphire, send plu's. Know router is good, hpv-20 seeing gempro for backup. Looked at Verifone helpful sheet: „« Failure Points: o Sapphire Ruby Card o Sapphire GemPro board not communicating o RU/SA connection failing o NewPro board not communicating o Ethernet cabling issue o Ethernet Routing issue o Router issue o HPV-20 not communicating o File corruption on the Sapphire
Did the reboot, no help. All workstations show error, even when using crossover cable, to eliminate router. After a shameful 3 1/2 hours, I tried the upgrade for HPV 20 installed, and wow, screen said insert card and press any key. I did, and it could not find the card. Opened the miserable cover under the micronode/router/modem/bottom of the sapphire/ and found the card had become unseated. Reseated, and all errors went away. Not sure how to test for RU/SA connection failing, and according to the above, I should have tried reloading the Sapphire! hopefully this will save someone else some grief!

You should be able to use this document in you Vasc service manual to assist in trouble shooting the v950 error messages, it will show you how to ping the actual ruby cards in the equipment. Keep in mind you have to do this from the v950 cmd prompt. VASC Service Manual - 2011.3.29\HPV_20_and_V950\Verifying Ruby HPV-20 Comms.pdf |
