We installed a TLS 350 at a small station 8 months ago. Periodically the customer will call and complain that the alarm is going off and the unit shows probe out.Every time we show up there it says all functions normal. We thought that large vehicles were driving over the direct burial wires so we saw cut and put new wire in. Now it goes off every other month and it seems to coincide with someone pumping gas...

Make sure the probes shield wiring is grounded only on one end at the console, also check wire connectors at the probe i usually remake the cable connections and reseal just to eliminate that possible problem from the equation even though they are sealed i have corrected many probe out issues by remaking the connections, also is it both probes or just one try swapping it with the other product to see if problem follows probe

Is just one probe or more,or when they turn the canopy on I had a bad ballast in a sign that was taking the probe out

I bet the communication wires are in the same conduit as power after they enter the store. We have seen this. Need to isolate wires and make sure they are shielded!

Noise noise noise noise. I would say something is walking all over the probe wires. AC Voltage in the same conduit? Drain grounded in the Veeder Root & hooked up on the probe end? Neon? Light Ballasts? Wouldn't think it is hardware.

If it's just one probe swap it to another tank. Other than checking connections and grounding, I have seen a probe go out when the product level was at certain levels. The delivery guy usually made it there before us and the problem would go away.

Do they have variable speed controllers for submersibles? I have seen sites have problems when the TLS cable is not shielded or even shielded properly, and the probe wiring is in close proximity to the sub motor wiring.

Add to previous comment....that might be why you only have a problem when fueling.

Direct Burial so There is no conduit for the wires to be Affected by Power Wireing of Veriable Speed STPs,Sounds like it is a Sheilded Ground that is Not Grounded on Both ends or May be Water in The Seal Pack?

Just because it's direct bury doesn't mean it isn't strapped to power wiring/conduits coming up the wall or routed to the console through a high voltage splitter trough. It shouldn't be, but that doesn't mean it isn't.
