The release notes for SHOPAK 5.01.02 say that debit transactions at Gilbarco DCRs with EPPs can work weithout GSM as long as the Ruby Card feature is present. What feature would this be?

I've been waiting to try this one myself, but haven't had the chance yet.

So Greg, if we have the Bravo card we can just gemstall 'No GSM' and remove it?

Forgot to update earlier, but removing GSM through gemstall is all that is needed. @ sites completed with GSM removed.

So far the only ones I've done have been fresh installs, but it's worked every time. Just Gemstall "NO GSM" as others have said and make sure you actually have a Bravo card installed in the Sapphire.

...But perhaps there is an issue converting existing installations that previously had a GSM. Maybe it needs a complete reload? Don't know, but there really isn't anything else to it.

I've done one site and it was an existing site. Just Gemstalled NO GSM. It was Buypak. Of course the site must have EPP installed and loaded for TDES.

SFC is not required

since the EPP's hold the encryption, the GSM or AGSM is no longer required.

I had a 5.01.04 upgrade today and no spare ports on the gempro, to add the systech unit. Called vhd and asked if I could remove the gsm and open the port, as was mentioned in this thread, and they told me no? Is there a good chance I could have just gemstalled No GSM and opened up a port? Gilbarco pumps and SFC.

You do have to have the Bravo (Fast Food in registration) vard for some reason. I've switched our back office ports to the workstations to free up a port as well.

This absolutely works with SHOPAK 5.01.04 - I've done it recently with 300's w/EPP - just don't Gemstall a GSM and program DCR parameters as normal. If you watch the end of the Graphic load it won't say DES 1 (et al.) it says something like UKPT INIT or something like that.

Thanks! That is surely the easiest way to free up a gempro post for these loyalty installs! Will try tomorow. I put 506 cards in all my sites.
